Pirates Don't Change Diapers : Melinda Long, David Shannon This came home from the used library sale, and Mr. Sneaky Pants has long sections of it memorized. Someone asks me to read it at least once a day. All three kidlets think it is hilarious.
Note by Note: A Celebration of the Piano Lesson : Tricia Tunstall It's often hard to find books about piano teachers, or books written by piano teachers. This was a really fun read for a piano teacher. It was kind of a memoir, packed with all sorts of student interactions, perspectives, ideas and inspiration for piano teachers. Best of all, the author had some "nonconventional" approaches that were really fun to read about.
Socks: Beverly Cleary This was a recent family read aloud, and all the kidlets enjoyed the perspective of Socks and imagining what our own cat was thinking during the day.
One Whole and Perfect Day: Judith Clarke Plot is this YA novel's strength, and while there were times that I felt that the plot was a touch predictable, it was fun to see exactly how the author wove things together and ended up in the place that I suspected we'd get. The characters were maybe not as entirely well developed as I would have liked, but still, this was a good read.
